Happy 3rd Birthday to Aurelia & Liam {Albany, Saratoga, Clifton Park, NY Children & Family Photography}

Today was super fun as I got to spend some time with 3 year old twins enjoying their Tinker Bell and Lighting McQueen 3rd birthday party at Tiny Tots Tea Room in Clifton Park. There was play time, a princess room, face painting and of course 2 amazing cakes…so who could ask for more? Not me!

Photographing a birthday party is a definite twist from my regular sessions since it focuses on a lot more candid shots since the kids are soaking up the fun of their party with their friends. I get to break away from more semi- posed photos (not that I ever do real poses..no fun for kids with poses) and capture some of the fun moments of the day. Erin, thanks for allowing me to spend some time with your twins on their special day….hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

Princess Aurelia

I got to capture some smiles from King Liam once he got a chance to dive into his cake!

The best part of the party is always watching the kids eat their cake since they have been waiting so long for their special treat that they enjoy it so much!!!

And I just could not leave you all without showing you how adorable the twins little brother Arlen is….just a cutie pie!!!

HOPE: American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Event {Albany, Saratoga, Clifton Park NY Event Photography}

A few months ago I was asked to donate my time and services to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and I was more than happy to help such a wonderful cause. The event took place last Friday (June 11th) at the Shen Campus and it was nice to get a chance to see how much the school has changed since I was there. I was able to make it to midnight and record the night’s events to that point. I was quite pleased lasting that long considering I am almost 6 months pregnant.  I think the true reason I was able to make it so long  was because the positive vibes exhibited by all in attendance that night. The people who participated were amazing and made you feel energized. I expected the event to be extremely emotional and heart breaking but found that the ACS’s Relay for Life has such an amazingly uplifting take to fighting cancer, remembering those who we have lost and honoring those who have survived the battle. It was about Hope! I strongly encourage more people to get involved in this yearly event because you will not regret being part of such a memorable night! Here are just a few of the moments I’d love to share with you from the night’s events.

I just had to include a picture of the two luminaries that my 2 year old daughters made to remember their Grandma and Nana who lost the battle a few years ago to cancer but will always be remembered in our hearts!

A friendly wager was placed between Waterford-Halfmoon and Shen Schools and the winner was announced during opening ceremonies. Being a Shen Pride Girl, I won’t say who won.

The Boy Scouts, lead by Shen student and survivor Ben Mayo, kicked off the opening lap which was followed by the survivors lap of the event. What was even more emotionally is that the caretakers of these survivors walked the opposite direction around the track to greet their loved ones with open arms. It was their chance to relish in their ability to fight back and win! To honor their struggle and celebrate their accomplishment! It was all about family, love and support.  Here are some the momments that followed….

My mom who is a 24 year survivor of Ovarian Cancer with my dad who was her backbone through the tough time. I’ve never met a stronger lady than my mom and a couple who are truly best friends for life!

As the sun set for the night, the celebration continued and focused on Hope and finding a cure so no one else ever has to suffer again. It was about joining together to fight this battle because collectively we can accomplishment anything.

Keep the HOPE alive and support the American Cancer Society!
